About the course:
Combine retreat experience with an educational course. Enjoy beautiful Costa Rica, practice yoga, and take daily educational workshops on Ayurveda, healing science and counterpart to yoga practice.
Ayurvedic medicine (“Ayurveda”) is one of the world's oldest holistic healing systems, originating in India thousands of years ago. Ayur stands for ‘life’, and Veda means ‘knowledge’, therefore Ayurveda translates to “Science of Life”. Within its vast teachings, it covers all areas of one’s lifestyle, including our psychology, emotional make-up and interpersonal relationships. Ayurveda teaches us how to find optimal health and wellbeing, by balancing the body, mind, and spirit. Therefore, Ayurveda is a holistic and natural type of medicinal science that can be practiced by anyone. It teaches non-invasive methods to maintain good health, and heal imbalances and issues. Ayurveda considers the body as a whole, including all of its systems; it considers the relationship of body, mind, and spirit, and targets the cause of the issue, instead of only treating symptoms of a problem or disease.
In this course, you will learn the foundations of Ayurveda and become an Ayurvedic Health Coach (Level 1). Receive a certificate from Hari OM School of Yoga and Ayurveda, and 45h continuing education credits from Yoga Alliance.
Ayurveda is the sister science of Yoga, and an ideal practice for anyone looking to learn personalized tools to improve and maintain their overall health and wellbeing. This Ayurveda course is also a perfect complimentary education for those looking to share wellness with others, such as yoga teachers, meditation teachers, massage therapists, physical therapists, health and nutrition coaches, or those looking to become Ayurvedic therapists. You will learn how to do dosha assessments, give basic Ayurvedic lifestyle and nutrition advice, and learn various tools to complement coaching practices. Yoga teachers will learn how to design classes and teach yoga and meditation according to one's Ayurvedic dosha and wellness needs.
This course is part of the 200-hr Yoga & Ayurveda Teacher Training. You can be awarded credit towards your RYT-200 certification, or 45hr Continuing education credits by Yoga Alliance.

About the teachers:
Matea Zajec began her yoga journey at a young age, practicing bhakti-yoga, meditation, and asana. In college, she lived in an ashram, rising early for meditation and practicing seva, or selfless service, while studying ancient yogic texts and theology books. She graduated with a degree in Eastern Religions and Philosophy, and has been teaching yoga history, Bhagavad-Gita and Yoga Sutras in teacher trainings for years. After years as a yoga teacher, she founded Hari OM Yoga and Hari OM Food & Wellness, aiming to offer the beautiful teachings of yoga to the world. From it, Hari Om Teacher training was developed, with an idea to offer pure yoga, meditation and Ayurveda teachings to the world. Matea is an E-RTY 200, and holds a 200hr certification in Vinyasa yoga, a 200hr certification in Anusara Yoga, is an Aerial yoga instructor, Tibetan singing bowl sound healer, Ayurvedic practitioner, meditation teacher and Reiki master.
Matea is the lead teacher in the 200hr Yoga & Ayurveda teacher training.
Adriana Zajec is an Ayurvedic doctor, massage therapist, Reiki master, and Bio-orgonomy healer. She found Ayurveda after giving up on finding a solution to her daughter's Matea health issues as a child, and after seeing the amazing and quick results, began studying this medicinal science with a doctor in her home country of Croatia. She founded the first Ayurveda and Wellness center in her hometown, and offered weekly meditation classes and monthly workshops on various topics. After years of one-on-one study with her mentor, she traveled to Ayurveda's home of Mysore, India, to deepen her knowledge and practical application of various therapies. Ada has personal experience healing chronic diseases, including cancer, with natural methods, and teaches Ayurveda theory and medicinal practice.
